Six orders totaling Rs 1,181 crore were won by L&T for construction of power transmission line and sub-station works. While three of these six orders worth Rs 440 crore have been secured for domestic projects, the remaining three worth Rs 741 crore have been secured from the Gulf markets.
Electrical and gulf projects operating company, a part of L&T's construction division will be carrying these orders forward.
In spite of tough international competition, L&T was able to secure two orders from UAE. The fist order was from Gulf, won against international competition and estimated at Rs 265 crore. The project which is scheduled to be completed in 18 months has been well accepted from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
Meanwhile, the second order, received from Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) worth Rs 100 crore, is an engineering, procurement and construction order. The order, to be completed in 16 months, deals with the construction of power distribution network to Aryam Island, near Abu Dhabi city.
On the other hand, the third order has been secured by Larsen & Toubro (Oman) and is valued at Rs 376 crore. The project is to be completed in 18 months.
