As per the media reports a student studying in fifth standard had her hair cut forcibly by her school principal, an act for which the latter was dismissed by Abu Dhabi's school regulator.

The school, where the alleged incident took place has not yet named by officials from the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC).

The reports suggest that the principal cut the hair of the girl in front of other pupils, a threat which she had been making before doing so.

The principal was immediately terminated on orders from Mugheer al Khaili, the director general of ADEC, upon the recommendation of an investigative team headed by Mohammad al Dhaheri, the executive director of school operations at ADEC.

As per Dr. Al Khaili, such kind of behavior will not be tolerated at public or private schools in the emirate.
