Abu Dhabi to hike capacity of some Indian Schools

Abu-Dhabi-Education-CouncilIndian Schools, facing flood of applicants seeking admissions in the schools, have a reason to smile as the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) has agreed to their opinion to hike the admission capacity of the schools. Parents are till now forced to send their wards to foreign schools due to non-availability of seats in the Indian Schools located in Abu Dhabi.

In a media statement, ADEC said, "ADEC is extremely concerned about the current lack of capacity of Indian-curriculum schools and would like to assure the community that ADEC is actively looking into both long and short-term solutions."

The Council, however, is yet to decide among 25 Indian-curriculum schools whose proposal for increasing seats have been accepted. ADEC is learnt to have selected an empty school in at Al Gharbia for enrolling 800 students under the Indian curriculum.

ADEC also discussed the matter with Indian Embassy and sought investment from Indian investors in the education sector for providing low cost education. Dr Pradeep Raj Purohit, second secretary at the Indian Embassy, said, "We are in the process of approaching the authorities through our diplomatic channel. We will make an announcement as soon as we have conclusive information."
