The Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy has awarded a grant of 150,000 AED to the Dubai Women's College (DWC) for completing its proposed project "One Book, One HCT".

Khuloud Al Nuwais, Director of Projects at the Emirates Foundation said: "The Foundation has been among the first organizations to create and support initiatives to promote the culture of reading, such as "Emirates Read," "The Mobile Library in Al Ain"

The project, first of its kind, is aimed to promote reading habits around parents and their wards by holding a variety of events such as workshops, lectures, social interactions. The move will help around 18,000 Emirati students starting their spring session of 2010.

The collage also hosted the 3rd HCT Global Entrepreneurship 2010 Conference (E2010) on 9-10 March 2010 which was aimed to promote entrepreneurship among the nationals.
