A highly sophisticated $62 million, solar-powered mega-yacht, WHY37x24, is expected to hit the market very soon which would be equipped with all modern features from swimming pool to extensive decking. The luxurious WHY
37x24 is a result of co-operation between Monaco-based yacht maker Wally and Paris-based fashion house Hermès.
The mega-yacht, with dimensions of 37 meters and 24 meters, houses 390 square meters of rooftop solar panels, reflecting the endorsement of much hyped green initiatives in the World. The yacht, display this week at the Abu Dhabi yacht show, is a downsized version of its bigger brother WHY 58x38.
Wally's President, Luca Bassani Antivari told, "Everybody's dream is to live on an island, in complete freedom, without constraint, with the independence that only self-sufficiency can provide."
Antivari termed the latest move by the company as a major step to go ecological as the boat, energized by solar energy, is capable to reduce energy consumption by up to 30% for propulsion. The motor yacht can acquire a speed of 14 knots and it is capable to cater 12 guests in its 280sq metres of space.
