It would become further easy for the Yahsat, the satellite subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Government-owned Mubadala Development to offer high-speed internet, television and telephone services across satellite connections by the end of next year as the company has signed agreement for enhancing the scope of extending data and voice services throughout the middle-East and Africa.
Jassem al Zaabi, the Chief Executive of Yahsat has said that the company is set to launch its first satellite dubbed as Yahasat 1A by the early next year which would help to extend its existing terrestrial offerings from various telecom players. The new satellite would increase its geographical coverage to around 26 countries from Kazakhstan to South Africa.
Mr. al Zaabi said, "We are going to announce the list of our existing service providers at Cabsat exhibition. At that time, it will be about 10 service providers and at the end of the year, it will be many more."
He said that the company is ready to showcase its strengths at the large digital media event Cabsat Mena which going to start from tomorrow in Dubai.
