The much hyped Abu Dhabi Yacht Show held on Yas Island on February 25-27 saw Abu Dhabi's Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) showcasing its four marina projects.
The projects would come up in Abu Dhabi city - in the Eastern Mangroves and in Al Bateen Wharf. Two more projects would be located at Saadiyat Island's marinas - the Marina Village on Saadiyat Beach and Saadiyat Marina, TDIC informed in a statement.
The company said that the Saadiyat Island project would feature an 83-berth marina offering first-class facilities to build vessels between 12 and 30 meters. Saadiyat Island is situated alongside Abu Dhabi's coast in a land covering 27 square kilometers.
The company is optimistic to open the Marina Village in 2012. The project would house retail shops, restaurants and a community centre besides a large number of apartments.
TDIC's Chief Executive Officer, Lee Tabler added, "Aimed at attracting tourists and visitors to a place where people from all walks of life can enjoy themselves, the marina projects on Saadiyat Island will offer world-class facilities and a cosmopolitan, waterfront holiday or lifestyle."
