Hamid al-Qatami, Minister of Education informed that the government has been taking new initiatives for improving the education system of the UAE in line with its 10-year long strategy to revamp the existing system. The new framework is targeted to be completed by 2020 and around 50 new measures are coming soon within a short period.
Teachers would be provided performance based incentives for enhancing their interest in imparting education with letter and spirit. Their performance would also be evaluated from time to time and proper training would also be provided for polishing the skills of teachers.
Al-Qatami expressed, "The move is aimed for improving the educational attainments of students to match the highest global levels through curricula restructuring, and improving the competencies of teaching staff."
Educators have been asked to revise the curricula based on the emerging needs. Government wants special focus on subjects like science, mathematics and English besides adequate knowledge of Islamic education curriculum for enhancing multi-cultural tolerance among young Muslims.
