February might be observed as the heart health month but heart diseases remain the number one killer and men and women are dying of it at a rapid rate in Wyoming. Being addressed as the silent killer, it is affecting more women than men.
According to health care professionals the symptoms of heart diseases might not be easy to get identified but taking precaution means being safe than sorry.
Being the number one killer it is affecting one in every 2.6 women as they proceed towards death due to heart diseases, which means two women in Wyoming die from it each day.
Experts have also stated that preventing heart diseases is in your hand by 80 per cent.
Certain ways to prevent heart problems are exercising, a 30 minute walk every day can keep heart disease away, avoid that salt shaker at your dinner table and watch your sodium intake to keep blood pumping healthily, consuming more fiber and replacing fine polished grains with whole grains, putting off smoking and limiting yourself to one drink per night, can help you.
In case of a discomfort please consult your GP and always ask your health care provider to check for heart problems.
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center will also soon be launching a program to better inform providers throughout the state about heart disease.
