Per Erik Gunnar Westerberg, Speaker of Sweden's National Assembly (The Riksdag), who is currently on a visit to the UAE, was today received by Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

H. H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, H. H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, H. E. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Speaker of the Federal National Council, H. H, attended the meeting.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and President of the Emirates Airlines, H. E. Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and members of the delegation accompanying Westerberg.

Members of the Education bureau of the GCC countries and Yemen were received afterwards by Sheikh Mohammed.

The education ministers of Saud Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen, who were accompanied by H. E. Humaid Mohammed Al Qattami, Minister of Education; were welcomed by Sheikh Mohammed.

The importance of education quality and the efforts to prepare skillful and knowledgeable generations were emphasized upon by Sheikh Mohammed.

Meanwhile he also laid stress upon more coordination among the education ministries in the GCC in order to offer new solutions and technologies for secondary education that are consistent with rapid progress.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, ministers and senior officials were present at the meeting.
