French FM backs Palestinian state

Bernard-KouchnerBernard Kouchner, the Minister for Foreign affairs of France asked for some concrete measures for bringing peace in the trouble hit Middle East. The Minister, in an interview with French magazine Le Journal du Dimanche, has said that recent assassination of Hamas operative Mahmoud al-Mabhouh the importance of peace process in the region.

The Minster backed for the establishment of a Palestinian state as a measure for stabilizing the worsening situation. He added, "We can consider the timely announcement of a Palestinian state, and immediate recognition by the international community, even before the negotiations on borders."

Kouchner said that the creation of a Palestinian state would unlikely to hit relations between Israel and the European community as the Middle East peace process is in the favor of one and all.

Warning people against forgery, he said that anyone involved in such mean practices would not be spared at any cost. Kouchner said that the French Foreign Ministry summoned Israeli charge d'affaires Sammy Ravel for seeking his explanation of using French passport in the killing of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.
