Premier Inn, the prestigious hotel brand of the UK, has been looking to expand its presence in the Gulf region given to its rising importance in the business and hospitality domain. The hotel, in partnership with Emirates Group, is planning to build 50 hotels in the Middle-East in next few years.
The Hotel Group, owned by the UK hospitality company Whitbread, opened its third hotel in Dubai by opening a new hotel at the Dubai International Airport investing Dh100 million. The group which operates 580 hotels in UK is also developing a new hotel in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre which would be launched in September 2011.
Darroch Crawford, the Managing Director of Premier Inn Middle East added, "The Middle East has prided itself on magnificent and iconic hotels, but they have kind of priced themselves out of a wider market."
Crawford said that more hotels would be opened in Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah and Muscat for serving the regions effectively which routinely holds events, conferences, trade shows and sporting events.
Premier Inn already opened a hotel in Bangalore last month and it is planning to open around 80 new hotels in India in the next decade.
