Students of all nationalities have a chance to win awards worth UAE Dirhams 485,000 as the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority has invited applications for its Student Competition for documentary and short films at the third Gulf Film Festival (GFF).
The award at the festival would be given to the students for their creative work done during their academic study. Preference would be give to the films manifesting the rich culture and heritage of the Gulf. However, GCC students are free to submit their entries at any subject for proving their skills.
GFF Festival Director Masoud Amralla Al Ali said that such awards would prove very useful for the students to make their career in film- making. He added, "Through the Gulf Film Festival, we want to celebrate their creativity and highlight how the region is serving as a sounding board for young film talent."
The managers of the event would avail services of the eminent jury for making the selection of winners. The best documentary or short can win a special Jury Prize of UAE Dh15,000 while top three winners would be provided UAE Dirhams 20,000, 15,000, and 10,000 respectively.
