Russia based Metalloinvest starts hot trials at Hamriyah Steel

Metalloinvest-LogoMetalloinvest, a steel and iron producer based in Russia has started hot trials at its UAE-based rebar producing subsidiary Hamriyah Steel which are likely to get completed in next three weeks. Hamriyah Steel is a joint venture of Metalloinvest and the ruler and emir of Abu -Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Hamriyah Steel has, meanwhile, expedited work at the facility for producing high quality 600 mt of rebar. The plant has a full production capacity of one million mt per year for producing rebar of 10-40 mm diameter. The steel rebar would be fully compatible with international standards such as S4449, ASTM A615 and DIN 488. Besides, it would open doors of Middle-East for expanding Metalloinvest's presence in the region.

Hamriyah Steel, General Manager, Shukhrat Nishanov added, "This is an historical event as it finalizes two years of construction of the first Russian steel plant in the United Arab Emirates."

Hamriyah Steel, having 25 per cent market share, has a potential to boost exports in Gulf region, including Iran, and also in Egypt given to a very strategic location of the steel plant.
