In a major relief to a 23-year-old British woman jailed by Dubai government for having illegal sex with his partner, has been quitted from the charges. The Dubai public prosecutor, after analyzing the marriage certificate by the affected woman, has decided to drop charges.
It should be recalled that the British woman had originally claimed that she had been raped in a luxury hotel by a waiter in Dubai on the eve of New Year. However, the couple was found consuming alcohol without a permit by the police which was enough to land them in the jail.
In the meantime, Dubai Prosecution Authority has also decided to drop charges against an Indian waiter who was charged for raping the woman when she was semi-conscious.
