It was yesterday forwarded by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research that the UAE Federal and Abu Dhabi governments might not make it compulsory for the private sector to employ UAE nationals.
He explained that instead, the plan is to create a partnership with the private sector with the aim of making them stakeholders in the human resources development and to profit from it.
At the sidelines of the Emiratization Employers Forum 2010 in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Nahyan said that the government is working hard to make a firm partnership with the private sector to recruit national men and women.
He continued, "For Emiratisation to succeed, every private sector employer must actively recruit and employ national graduates."
Sheikh Nahyan concluded that it is important for business leaders to recognize that loads of patience, perseverance and long-term efforts are required for success in employing nationals in the private sector. The business leaders should not make only the short-term initiatives their focus.
