Deals worth $1 billion done at first Bahrain Airshow During the first Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS), SALES agreements worth over $1 billion (BD378 million) were signed.

The grand three-day show at the Sakhir Airbase, which ended on Saturday, was attended by some 30,000 visitors.

Farnborough International Limited (FIL), which coordinated the event in partnership with Civil Aviation Affairs for the Kingdom of Bahrain, released the figures.

A spokeswoman said, "FIL very pleased with the attendance figures at the first BAIS. Between the corporate and public sides of the events, we entertained around 10,000 people each day so we are really delighted with that."

The success of the event was described as good by BIAS organizing committee head Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who added that the trade agreements would be evaluated in the coming weeks.

The show was a grand success as the participants kept on expressing their gratitude to the organizers.
