Year 2009 proved very useful for the managed technology services, recording significant growth despite the challenges posed by volatile and uncertain conditions of the economic market, added Michael Collins, a leading technologist for Data Centre Services at Injazat Data Systems.
Managed services including web services, security services, infrastructure services, and storage, backup & restore services, are expected to keep with this growing trend in the year 2010 as well.
Speaking on the sidelines of the first day of '2010 IDC Middle East CIO Summit', Michael Collins added, "There was an increased focus on IT [last year] as some of them focused on because of economic crisis and companies were looking to save money."
IT service provider Injazat, having significant clients base in Abu Dhabi and Dubai is looking for opportunities to expand its base in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait this year.
The summit was organized by IT and communications market intelligence and events firm IDC for discussing trends in managed information technology services.
Chris Lewis, Group Vice-President for International Telecoms and Networking, IDC, while expressing views about managed services, added that the services have already considerable penetration in UAE and further emphasis can help to mitigate the gap between straightforward IT outsourcing and more traditional services.
