Keeping its commitments to help the people of earthquake hit Haiti; UAE dispatched relief supplies for the nation on the directive of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
An aircraft carrying 77 tonnes of basic relief supplies landed at Las Americas Airport in Santo Domingo. The aid package includes medicines, medical supplies and food sent by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation for the millions of affected families due to magnitude 7 earthquake.
Haiti humanitarian operations are being co-coordinating by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation with other international relief agencies including the World Food Program. Delegates of foundation also held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic, Carlo Morales Troncoso for discussing more steps to help the affected families.
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Establishment, as reported by state-owned news agency WAM, has also dispatched 40 tonnes of aid from Dubai for the victims. UAE has also assured every kind of help for the Haiti where earthquake claimed several lives besides wide spread loss of property.
