The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed its commitment for reducing carbon emissions for saving environment and its plan to establish nuclear plants in the country can be seen under the same perspective.
Speaking at the World Future Summit, Minister of Energy Mohammed Bin Dhaen Al Hameli said that the country has been reporting significant rise in power demand given to the rapid industrialization and increase in population in recent years. The demand can be met by focusing on other sources of energy which are otherwise necessary for environment point of view.
The Minister added, "The UAE will not shrink from this responsibility this summit will hear multiple examples of just how the UAE is carving out for itself a role as a future energy centre."
Urging all nations to put their due contribution for controlling carbon emission to save motherly earth, Hameli added that alternative energy sources require capital as well as technology for ensuring smooth supply of energy for future generations.
For growing countries like the UAE and other Gulf Nations, he said, it is even more important to come up with energy plans that can ensure their sustained growth.
Hameli added, "The UAE recognizes this and is taking unparallel steps to reduce this footprint."
