Talks on Pak-Afghan issues to be hosted by UAE

AfghanAn Emirati official told that Abu Dhabi will hold a meeting between delegations from 40 countries. This meeting will aim at the problems in the troubled regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan and the challenges they face.

The official added that the foreign ministers of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Jordan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates will also be present at the gathering.

On Thursday, Dan Feldman, an adviser to US Afghanistan envoy Richard Holbrooke, said, “Among the issues that will be discussed at the meeting include Pakistan's plans for economic development and humanitarian assistance, as well as strengthening of democratic institutions in Afghanistan.”

Tuesday's meeting, which comes just weeks before a major conference in London on Jan 28, will be attended by Afghan President Hamid Karzai and other international leaders.
