New Digital cameras launched by GE in Middle East Market

With the aim to expand its global reach into the Middle East, General Imaging, the worldwide exclusive licensee for GE digital cameras unveiled a range of digital cameras into the Middle East today at Gitex. The cameras range from seven to 12 mega pixels in range of A, G and E.

Though these GE cameras had been selling in the regions of Middle East from quite sometime now, they were officially launched now. Through a joint effort with General Imaging's master distributor for the region, Sharaf Electronics LLC, these cameras will be made available in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan.

The highly functional cameras have blink and smile recognition technology built into face detection system. It can make panoramic images by stitching together up to three photos.

According to General Imaging's founder, CEO and Chairman Hiroshi "Hugh" Komiya, "The Middle East is rapidly becoming a critical region in the world of consumer electronics, and we are delighted to make our first appearance at GITEX."
