Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour has ruled out its interest to buy Spanish club Real Madrid as reported by Spanish newspaper AS. Terming the information released by the daily far away from truth, a source concerning with the development said that Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed wants the Manchester City amongst the top clubs of UK and currently focusing only on its development.
The media reports claim that the Abu Dhabi royal family has approached Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and both parties are expected to hold a meeting in early 2010 for possible way-out.
Currently fans are the real owners of clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona and these cannot be purchased without their pleasure, as per widespread believe. But the newspaper said that there is a scope for sell out through a referendum among all shareholders a stated by Article 58.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the brother of the ruler of Abu Dhabi. He acquired the ownership of Manchester City in August 2008 paying over 200 million pounds.
