U.S. Health Secretary to Discuss Medicare Plan

U.S. Health Secretary to Discuss Medicare PlanThe Obama administration is not going to take any more verbal attack from the opposition regarding President Barack Obama's plans for Medicare. This is the reason that they have decided to send Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to Tampa and Orlando.

She would be discussing benefits about the Medicare plan and would be sharing some data with people which would help win her votes for the Medicare plan. The Obama administration decided to take the step as Republican candidates and majorly Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum were continuously trying to prove that the Medicare plan would have ill effect on the nation’s health care system.

It would be the first time that a political figure would be going out in the public to make them understand about the benefits of the plan. Sebelius would also be releasing new figures about the beneficiaries which have received benefit from the last year’s Medicare.

Not only this, she would also be unveiling that the government saved $2.1 billion last year due to Medicare plan. The data would also include the percentage of senior citizen that has been benefitted by the cover being provided in the Medicare.

Sebelius said that elderly people have got 50% discount on covered branded drugs. The dugs would not have gone so economic if the medicate would not have been active in the country. She said that the main aim would be to make people know about the reality.

This year’s Medicare plan would be best than ever, said Sebelius. She further affirmed: “Many people raise fears over and over again that under the Affordable Care Act, beneficiaries would see their Medicare Advantage options shrink and their premiums rise”.

However, this is not going to stop Republicans who said that Obama plan would do nothing but would provide fewer choices in rerun of more money.
