It has been unveiled in a recent report that Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, had urged Google’s Chief Executive Eric Schmidt not to steal Apple employees. He was accused of trying to recruit engineers from Apple, which is a serious offense.
As per the findings, a junior Google employee's job was endangered due to recruitment of an Apple engineer recruited by Google’s head. A court case had also been filed against it. It has now been found that Jobs had sent an e
-mail to Eric Schmidt in the year 2007 stating the information given to him that Google’s employee tried to recruit Apple’s engineer. It is also said that Eric Schmidt was then a board member of Apple.
According to further findings of the report, the e-mail was forwarded by Eric Schmidt to other recipients who have not been disclosed. He had asked them: "Can you get this stopped and let me know why this is happening”? It was then replied by a director of Google that they would terminate the employee within an hour after receiving the mail.
The email was disclosed on Friday due to the civil lawsuit filed against Apple Inc., Google Inc., and five other technology companies. It was filed by five software engineers who accused these firms of having a plan to keep employee’s rewards low by offering no competitions to skilled labors.
The report also found that a settlement was made between the companies agreeing not to poach other company’s workers. It was then suggested by the tech defendants to the U. S. judge in San Jose, California, to stop and sojourn the civil lawsuit as the companies, including Adobe Systems Inc., Intel Corp., Google, Apple and others, are involved in bilateral anti-poaching deals in order to protect teamwork.
However, it has been revealed that the filing would continue may it end up splitting into various potential class actions.
