1-Year-Old Boy Chews Snake

1-Year-Old Boy Chews SnakeAs per reports, it got revealed that that an 18-month old toddler killed the snake by chewing his head into the mouth. Imad Gadir who lives in northern Israel found the 35 cm long coin snake in his room and thinking it to be a new game, he killed the snake.

As per Gadir's mother, she found Gadir chewing the snake and instantly shouted on which her neighbor came to their house and found Gadir holding the bits and pieces of the snake. They called up the snake catcher Eli Cohen who told about the breed of the snake and also revealed that it was not poisonous.

The snake was three years old, said Cohen, who further affirmed that Gadir would have got into trouble if the snake would have been long and active. Generally, this is the time for hibernation, so mostly snakes are not active.

This would have been the reason that it did not react at the time when Gadir was playing with it before chewing its head. Cohen said, "Luckily for him, the coin snake isn't poisonous; otherwise, it could have ended in a tragedy".

The mother took Gadir to Rambam Hospital in Haifa for the check up, where he was said to be absolutely fine. Gadir's mother was too surprised that such a small child has eaten a snake, but Cohen said that it is possible. Hibernation period is the laziest period for snakes and many other animals.

However, Cohen warned that if the snake would have been little big then he could have strangled Gadir which could have led to his death. In other cases, one could suffer from chronic problem if they are allergic to the snake. Here also Gadir escaped as he was not allergic to coin snake.
