A grandmother of two becomes mother again at age of 53

A grandmother of two becomes mother again at age of 53 A grandmother from Daventry, Northamptonshire, was shocked when she found that she was pregnant at the age of 53, despite taking the contraceptive pills.

Last year, Debbie Hughes decided to take a pregnancy test after her family members teased her about putting on weight. She was shocked when she found the result positive.

Ms Hughes, who already had two sons and two granddaughters, later gave birth to a baby boy, named Kyle, who is now seven months old and is completely healthy. She became one of the UK's oldest ever naturally conceiving mothers.

Expressing her shock at the birth of Kyle, she said, "I didn't think it was possible. Not at my age, not at all."

Kyle is 26 years younger than his elder brother. Even Ms Hughes' two granddaughters are older than their new uncle Kyle.
