It has been revealed by a new report that the housing estate developers have been introducing their own broadband scheme as NBN or National Broadband Network is making huge delays in delivering their services.
The report says that the high-speed broadband is being introduced by the housing estate developers themselves as it has been found by them that people want high-speed internet in their new homes and believe that it is a vital part of their lifestyle package.
It is useless to wait for the National Broadband Network to be delivered by the Federal Government, said Rod Binedell, who is the development manager of Mandalay estate at Beveridge in north of Melbourne. He said that they cannot wait any longer for the government to deliver the broadband services to their customers. Thus, they being developers, themselves are providing an excellent and high-speed broadband of latest technology to them.
He said that national network is complex and is therefore, being continuously delayed by the government. Mandalay estate is covering 2000 homes and is expecting to occupy 200 houses at least who would be provided with broadband services. "A private network happens more quickly, which in turn means housing construction times are shorter", he believes.
It is this reason that they are providing the network themselves, added Mr. Binedell. Further, it was also revealed that the optical fibre firm OptiComm had saw a lot of frustration on people’s faces, residing in newly built estates when it provided broadband services to them.
Phil Smith, from OptiComm, said in addition to the context that varied housing estates were being provided with their broadband services. And he had found them really annoyed with the NBN’s services and responsiveness to new estates.
