It has been found through a recent report that Edward Wilson, 48, who is an explorer and painter, has compiled his beautiful drawings of Antarctica, which will be displayed in an exhibit. The beautiful collection of drawings was compiled by him during his mission towards the South Pole that he started in the year 1912.
The report has revealed that Wilson had started his mission with Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his crew towards the Antarctic in the year 1912. Thus, to mark the 100th anniversary with the captain and crew, he is going to release the sketches collected by him during their journey.
Wilson told the reporters that his ancestor’s work was outstanding as well as a very important form of scientific records. But, it remains unseen sometimes and the reason might be his death at an early stage. Wilson was described as the best man he had ever met as told by him at time of his death.
The amazing pictures compiled by Wilson that are to be displayed comprise frozen landscape, Scott guiding his team as well as incredible wildlife that came across by them during their expedition. Apart from, Wilson’s drawings are also collected by his family and nephews in Edward Wilson’s Antarctic Notebooks’, found the report.
It is being said that photographer Ponting and uncle Ted had to go together on the journey, but instead of being each other’s rivals, they actually worked together with each other. Ponting used to take pictures of Wilson and Wilson on the other hand, drew sketches of Ponting working.
“At the time he first started going to Antarctica people weren’t sure if there was a continent at all, his record of the wildlife and landscape of that world showed the world that it existed and was a vital scientific record”, said Dr. Wilson.
