Topshop Expects Sales to Shoot Over WeekendThere are expectations that there would be large number of passengers heading on flights to Melbourne as there are reports that the British fashion store and its male equivalent Topman has been opened on Chapel Street in the city on December 8, 2011.

It has also been told that there were huge sales on the very first day of the store as women flock to the store. There were good amount of items sold, with sequined products and chinos being among the most popular of all. While the response received so far is beyond expectations, there are hopes that more and more number of people would come forward this weekend, as they are planning to hand out a voucher worth AU$100 (£65) to a lucky customer every hour.

It has been known that Topshop has wide popularity among shoppers and that was quite evident for the first day response of the store.

“That creative layering, it’s very street style and that’s something London does well. It’s the way that musicians dress and music is a very big influence on British fashion. Unlike the French, we don’t have that history of heritage labels so we turn to music”, said Topshop Creative Director Kate Phelan, who is told to be a part of the event.

It has been told that the 1600 sq-metre store would showcase mainline Topshop and Topman collections along with the Boutique division and their collaborations with London Fashion Week designers, so that large segment of customers could be attracted.

So if you’ve made no plan for this weekend, there is no better place to hit the store as you may well be the lucky one to get hold of the voucher. There are chances that the next store would be in Sydney as the company is on the spree of reaching out to corners of the world.
