UAE non-oil trade hits Dh370.3bn in five months with Dh71bn increase
Submitted by Aabid Hussain on Sun, 09/04/2011 - 18:17Federal Customs Authority (FCA) preliminary statistics show that UAE non-oil foreign trade continues to increase for the five months of 2011 with an increase of Dh71bn. Trade increased 24 per cent as compared to the same period of the last year as Total non-oil Foreign Trade has grown from Dhs299.2bn.
Import surged 22 per cent during the first five months to Dh237.4bn. Similarly, export increased from Dh31bn to Dh43.5bn. Re-exports surged 22 per cent to go up from Dh73.3bn to Dh89.4bn for the same period.
Dubai civic body releases food trade control report

The civic authorities who released its bi-annual food trade report claimed that 335 companies and more than 20,000 products have come under the electronic monitoring system during the first half of this year.
The Food Trade Control Section of the Food Control Department said that Dubai imported four million tonnes of food while its export figures touched three million tones marks from June 2010 to January 2011.

Cancer will be fought by funds generated by USM students as plans are on to organize a Relay for Life event.
At the field house on the Gorham campus, at least one member of the teams that camp out overnight will walk around the track at all times even during the night.
