According to the estimate of experts, less than one thousand of the endangered kea are left on earth, of which five were reportedly shot by a disturbed gunman, recently.
Appalled by this sort of behavior, the Department of Conservation (DoC) said the matter had been referred to the New Zealand police. As many New Zealanders would likely agree, the officials of the department said all five of the animals were young and healthy and would have gone on to contribute to future generations of the species.

UAE non-oil trade hits Dh370.3bn in five months with Dh71bn increase

Trade increased 24 per cent as compared to the same period of the last year as Total non-oil Foreign Trade has grown from Dhs299.2bn.
Import surged 22 per cent during the first five months to Dh237.4bn. Similarly, export increased from Dh31bn to Dh43.5bn. Re-exports surged 22 per cent to go up from Dh73.3bn to Dh89.4bn for the same period.
Dubai civic body releases food trade control report

The civic authorities who released its bi-annual food trade report claimed that 335 companies and more than 20,000 products have come under the electronic monitoring system during the first half of this year.
The Food Trade Control Section of the Food Control Department said that Dubai imported four million tonnes of food while its export figures touched three million tones marks from June 2010 to January 2011.
Burlington’s Lemonade Stand Raises Funds For Childhood Cancer

Jolene Cannady, a registered nurse, hosted an Alex’s Lemonade Stand, located outside the Old Navy store in Burlington during September, the National Childhood Cancer Awareness month.
The lemonade stand represents the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation that has been named after Alexandra Scott (1996 - 2004), who wanted to raise money for helping find a cure for children with cancer, by holding a lemonade stand.
An outstanding success, the lemonade stand raised around $740, today, which total Old Navy has promised to match.
