UAE may allow for Skype

The telecom regulatory body of UAE is looking for ways through which services of Skype can be made available in the country. This information was given by Mohamed Al Ghanim, Director-General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), who is said to be very interested in the development.

Google and Skype might ban the messaging services in India, unless the firm goes by the norms of government security regulations. Reuters states that the government has been keeping an eye on Google's messaging service and Skype's internet telephony service for over a year.
Skype still available with some operators

Skype, a service that offers voice data and video communication over internet, is still available in some parts of the country though it is officially banned in the UAE. People, having DU internet connections are still enjoying the service by making calls to PC using internet. However, the users with Etisalat connection failed to download and use the services as it has been blocked officially by the company after government orders.

Josh Silverman, the Chief Executive of the United Arab Emirates has expressed disappointment over UAE's move to block its services in the country which is turning as a hub of global business and commercial activities.
