Gulf Air inks $70 million finance deal with Bahrain Islamic Bank
Submitted by Aabid Hussain on Wed, 08/26/2009 - 17:32Gulf Air, the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has signed a $70 million facility with Bahrain Islamic Bank.
Under the arrangement, this four-year medium-term facility will be used to partly finance eight A320 aircrafts, which are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year and first quarter of next year.
The transaction legal counsels representing Bahrain Islamic Bank were Denton Wilde Sapte - Paul Jarvis and Sami Syadi, while Gulf Air has Linklaters, Hassan Radhi and Associates.
Rolls Royce gets $1 billion order from Gulf Air

The order has been signed to supply engines for the Bahrain-based airline’s new Airbus A330 long-haul aircraft.
According to sources, British aircraft engine manufacturer will supply Trent 700EP engines to power 20 Airbus A330 aircraft, with deliveries beginning in 2012.
