The Dubai Government-owned oil and gas group Enoc Retail has announced to come up with a number of retail brands across the Emirates apparently for taking advantage of rapidly growing retail sector.

The first eco-friendly service station in the Middle-east has been launched by the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), a government-owned oil company in Dubai. The green service station has been opened in the Emirates Hills neighborhood in Dubai.

It seems like the final ecological oxymoron: a green petrol station. Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has asked for lifting governmental control over petrol prices as selling oil at subsidized rates has been making to the organization suffer huge financial losses. The retailers are forced to sell petrol at far below prices as compared to the actual prices in the market, reported UAE based paper the National in its recent report.

Dubai state-controlled Emirates National Oil’s offer to buy the remaining 48.5 per cent stakes in Dragon Oil was rejected by its shareholders.

Dragon Oil said in a statement that nearly 73 million shares were voted against the 455p-a-share bid that valued the exploration firm at £2.3 billion.

The bid failed to get the required support of at least 75 per cent of the shares voted.

ENOC was not allowed to take part in voting.

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Dubai based giant of the oil world, will be buying the remaining 48% of Dragon Oil as well, the share which was earlier not included in a deal that would cost the UAE based company 2.36 Billion Pounds ($3.88 Billion). The agreement came through recently, after ENOC agreed that Dragon was rapidly expanding overseas and the company itself wanted to do the same.

UAE has welcomed the launch of two new eco-friendly engine oils, via which consumers can expect higher fuel efficiency and less pollution.

The Protect Green 5W 40 and Vulcan Green 10W 40 engine oils have sulphated ash and phosphorous in less quantity.

This product has been rolled out by the Enoc International Sales Ltd., a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc), making it the first-ever UAE company to initiate 'green' gasoline and diesel engines.
