The Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca, has strike a deal with the Medical Research Council. As per this deal, they would allow MRC to access their 22 chemical compounds to design some of the best treatments for range of diseases.

Recentin Fails Colon Cancer Tests

Following the failure of its experimental cancer drug Recentin in treatment of colon cancer reported in a study on Friday, AstraZeneca has decided to terminate its further production.
It has removed the drug as the firstline product for the cancer cure.
The failure was received as a shock by a number of experts as well as the Company.

Before approving Certriad cholesterol drug for sale, AstraZeneca PLC and Abbott Laboratories stated that more information on the drug has been asked by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA sent a complete response letter in which more data regarding their new drug application, which combines their cholesterol pills TriLipix and Crestor has been sought.
